The Family Board is a family organizer app that helps a household manage a shared calendar, chores, weekly schedules, and related day-to-day coordination. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and how you can control or delete it.

The Family Board is designed for adults to set up and manage a shared family account. A parent or guardian creates the family, signs in, and can add profiles for other members of the household, including children. Children do not create their own accounts, sign in independently, or interact with the app outside of what a parent or guardian sets up on their behalf.
We collect only the information needed to run the app's features:
Information is used solely to provide the app's core functionality: authenticating parent/guardian sign-in, displaying and syncing your family's calendar, chores, schedules, and related data across your household's devices, and letting a parent manage profiles within their own family. We do not use this information for advertising, do not build behavioral or interest profiles from it, and do not use it to make decisions unrelated to running the app you asked for.
If this changes in a future version of the app — for example, if we add analytics to understand feature usage — we will update this policy first and describe exactly what's added and why.
The Family Board is multi-tenant: many families use the same app, but each family's data is kept separate at the database level. Access controls (Postgres row-level security, enforced by our backend on Supabase) ensure that one family's calendar, chores, schedules, and profiles are never visible to another family, and there is no shared or cross-family view of this content.
The Family Board's backend runs on Supabase (Postgres database, authentication, and serverless edge functions), and the app itself is hosted via Netlify. These providers process data on our behalf, under their own security and privacy commitments, solely to operate the app — they do not independently use your family's data for their own purposes.
Your family's data is retained for as long as your account is active, so the app can continue to function as expected. If you'd like your family's account and all associated data deleted, contact us at the email address below. We'll verify the request comes from the account owner and delete the associated family's data — profiles, calendar events, chores, schedules, and tracking records — from our active systems within a reasonable time after verification.
We use reasonable technical measures to protect your family's information, including encrypted connections between the app and our backend, and database-level access controls that isolate each family's data. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but protecting your family's information is something we take seriously in how the app is built.
If we make material changes to how The Family Board collects or uses information, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users within the app.
